I just want to know what you people think of the first 2 weeks of the start of the NHL. I am from Calgary myself, and I like the looks of the Calgary Flames and their goalie Roman Turek. He's the ONLY reason Calgary is doing so well (compared to last year), not to mention Rob Niedermeyer and Craig Conroy.
In terms of the next Stanley Cup champions, I'd say i'm stuck between 2 teams...
Colorado Avalanche and the Detroit Red Wings. As for Calgary, I'd say they just might make to the PLAYOFFS!
GO CALGARY!

Your right! One of the main reasons Calgary is doing well so far is because of Turek. I've always liked him and his style. Did you see that number he did against my beloved Chicago Blackhawks? Shut us out!
Anyway, as far as whi's gonna take the Cup, I think it's still going to be Colorado. The are just too damn good of a team not to win it all again. Even without some of their star players someone always steps up and takes over. That's definitely the ultimate sign of a championship caliber team.
It would be nice to see someone else at the top however.
Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

Pilot1113-
HAHAHAAHAHAHA I hope you saw the Bruins v Sharks game this evening. I thought it was so wonderful how your puny Bruins dominated oh, 58 minutes of the game....... but WE HAD THE TWO MINUTES THAT COUNTED. 3-2 sharks baby.

We don't get the Bruins game all the way out here in Indiana, where I'm going to school. I almost always have to catch (what turns out to be) the 'lowlights' on ESPN.com.
>>Stanley Cup is on its way to San Jose this year.
I think it's going to Colorado again, unfortunately.
How did the Bruins begin to suck so badly in the first place? It's really sad to be from a hockey town and not have a decent team to your name!

Hey well I can be hopeful can't I? Anyway, as I said the Bruins looked great for the first oh 58 minutes. It took 28 tries for them to finally give up a PP goal this season...
I don't know about Colorado though. I'm still scratching my head at how Detroit got Hasek.
Just watch out for Nolan, Damphousse, and (the wimp) Selanne, and the rest of the roughians of my SJ sharks.... they've got what it takes this year.

The Red Wings will finaly get the Cup.
Look at their skaters: Brett Hull, Sergej Fedorov, Steve Yzerman, Brendan Shanahan, Luc Robitaille and Larionov, plus Chelios in the defense. And Hasek is the best goalie anyway.
Colorado is good, but Detroit is better!
BTW, Colorado, have you seen the 0:4 against Vancouver? Bad start for Aebischer this year...

I will go with Dallas for one reason: Offensive depth.
Turgeon, Nieuwendyk, and Modano- all on one team. Not to mention Donald Audette, Jere Lehtinen, Brendan Morrow, and to lesser extents, Rob Dimaio, and Valeri Kamensky. Defensively, there really haven't been any additions other than Jyrki Lumme.
The Dallas Morning News has been watching Eddie Belfour like a hawk(no pun intended). This is the final year of his contract. I think next year, they should get rid of Eddie and turn the job over to Marty Turco. Marty has come a long way and the stars put a lot of confidence and time into him(he was the reason they got rid of manny fernandez, and to a lesser extent, Roman Turek). Marty Turco has proved himself and I think he deserves the job. I think it will come down to the usual 3: Dallas, Detroit, Colorado.
The leafs are my #1 team, but I think they may come up short this year. LETS GO LEAFS!
