SCIENTISTS have invented a new contraceptive pill that will also cut the risk of BREAST CANCER and banish PMT.
The drug, currently undergoing clinical trials, works by halting ovulation and stopping periods.
And without periods there can be no PMT — ending a monthly misery for many women and their partners.
The “wonder pill” could be available in five years, said Professor David Baird, who is leading studies at the University of Edinburgh.

I wonder if it's much like other long-term contraceptives already available (Depo-Provera for one)? My guess is that one major side-effect they'll have to overcome is the weight gain that often accompanies these therapies. If they can do THAT, it'll be a blockbuster.
