Question For IE7 Beta Users

Greetings...

As You may know from the thread I started many months ago now, I downloaded the IE7 Beta as soon as it came out only to find it didn't have FTP support (Which is rather important since I am most comfortable with IE's FTP setup)

Anyway, Since It didn't have FTP support, I tried a version which wasn't released to the public and it wouldn't install so I reverted back to IE 6...

Now, I just had a look at IE7s Pre-Release Beta site and found there was a new version released on March the 20th and as I'm on dialup I don't wanna download it to find it doesn't have FTP either and then uninstall it.

What I was wondering is if anyone here has downloaded it and tried the FTP feature (If there is such a thing)

Anyway, If anyone could check and tell me I'd be muchly thankful

when you say FTP support, you mean FTP so you can upload files from within the browser?

if so, it appears beta 2 doesnt do it..

i recommend you getting a freeware/shareware app..

i like WinSCP but i dont think it supports non encrypted servers..i forgot what i use for ftp itself..look at CNET/download.com

Yes

I have CuteFTP but I hate the layout... I like the windows explorer style layout that you get in IE's FTP Function - If IE7 can't operate FTP, Then I'll just deal with using IE6

A friend of mine found this on the IE7 Beta website;

"FTP Authentication--The user is not prompted for credentials when visiting an authenticated FTP site in Internet Explorer. This is a known issue, and the workaround is to enter the credentials into the FTP URL directly; for example, ftp://username:password@example.com"

He is currently downloading it and is gonna check it out for me...

Okay, The FTP Definetly works, My friend got into my FTP so that's a good start... Shame this phoneline is being a turd and won't go over 2.4k/s

I tried IE7 and had nothing but problems. SItes wouldn't load properly, frames would be all messed up.

Only one solution: http://www.getfirefox.com/

Much better than Internet Exploder.
