Hi all,

Whilst booking a train ticket I saw an advert saying that if you have flown between London and Manchester in February or March, you can claim a free first class ticket on Virgin Trains by sending if your old boarding pass stub. Here is the link to the advert:

http://www.planerelief.com/default.aspx?psource=pw

Thought it might be useful to some people! This was advertised on Virgin Train's website so it is legitimate.

Ben

Got me one, too. Considering the flight only cost me £7.50 all in, its quite a good offer!

Only problem is, the service isn't offered from Lancaster, so I'll have to pay a supplement/travel in economy to Lancaster. Worth it, though!

Making a special effort to travel on catered trains!

I'm sure they'll let you in the lounge. Don't get too excited though I wasn't that impressed, but they do have free drinks and snacks.
I was going to tell you not to book weekends as you only get coffee and biscuits, but as you can only go weekdays I'm sure you'll be well fed. This has got to be one of the best offers I've seen in awhile, those tickets are worth so much money! I mean, free first class rail tickets where the only qualication is that you've had to be on a plane recently - it doesn't get much better.

Hope you all have good trips

Chris

It says nothing about "One Per Person" so if you have two stubs, apply for two journeys!  Wink

You're just jealous of my superior knowledge regarding everything in this world. Sadly that involves trains and home economics. Sad

Seeing as you can get a flight for like 20, its not superising but still an odd gimick or maybe they needed to get less people on return flights on ceratain days.
