Pfff...that's just a myth. There's nothing that explains why your turd swings one way or another when you flush. And no, it does not shoot straight down if you're on the Equator.

Friday's Stupid Thread - Your Favourite Music Era (by LTU932 Apr 7 2006 in Non Aviation)

I guess I still have to learn how to post a proper FST then.  Confused

On topic though, I don't if the flush goes. Just as long as you don't make a collect call to Australia to find out how the flush goes there, like Bart did on The Simpsons. Big grin

LOL ! Actually your "stupid" thread is unfortunately isn't stupid enough...come to think of it, it isn't stupid at all !

As the inventor of the FST, FST's must discuss topics which encourage the most idiotic exchange possible - see archived threads for more details  Wink

As for the water turning clockwise or anti clockwise, it is a common myth that the flushing water follows the same path that athmospheric depressions, hence anti-clockwise on the northern hemisphere, and clockwise down under.

However, while this is true for depressions - due to Coriolis forces caused by Earth rotation - this is not true for flushing water. Although the Coriolis forces impact on the flushing water, their effect is negligeable in respect to other parameters. Even a slight irregularity on your sink will have more effect !!!

Theorically, it could be true only in a perfect environment with a perfecty circular sink. Since my toilet is not like that, I would have to say... it is random.

As for the colour, it is currently blue coloured. I have to change the thingy quite soon though. And it is not the same blue as in aircraft.

Cheers,

707

Just came back from the toilet, and it's weird, but when I flush, it hardly spins at all.

never really worried about it ... so long as the toilet doesn't actually reject them I am happy ....if it ever decided to spit them out then I would be worried
