What Do You Do When A Relationship Ends?

The "Love At First Sight" thread got me to thinking.....and subsequently ROTFL when I recalled recently seeing a promo for a "Frasier" rerun.....

Someone asks Roz: "what do you do when a relationship ends?"
Roz answers: "I put on my clothes and go home."

So, feel free to post your thoughts.....what do you do when a relationship ends? Do you get right back up and look for someone new? Do you drown your sorrows? Do you look for an attorney.....or the cops?

Serious or funny experiences/thoughts welcome...

Tom at MSY

One good night on a bender and then move on, although the breakup might just be a good excuse to go on a bender, I'm not sure.

Quoting Tom in NO (Thread starter):
what do you do when a relationship ends?"

I was down in the dumps for ages

My last serious relationship ended in 2004, and i'm still single now. I was engaged to a girl who I thought was the best thing that had ever happened to me, however sadly she was putting on a huge smokescreen and she kept me in the dark about many things.

Eventually, I began to ask myself if I could ever really trust a woman again. Yes I have 'gotten over it' but it took me a while to do so (6 months).

I do have my "eye on someone", and I'd love to ask her out for a date, but i'm being catious & still thinking about it

Who knows what will happen next....

Just do it. The worse thing that can happen is that she will say "NO".

Drink alittle & run alot. First serious relationship I had some 20+ years ago, lasted about 6 months. After she dumped me for someone else, I cried, drank a few shots straight volka, and ran around the local track for a few miles...and I mean a hard, flat-out, full-bull run! After that, I felt pretty good. After a few more relationships, I've learned that for me, the best way to get over someone is to get UNDER someone!  Smile Regards.

If the age on your profile is correct, then you haven't lived as long as most of us, or lived through the mockery of latter adolecense.

Either way, as you get older you get more of something you can't have at a younger age. Experience!

When everyone says life is to short, it means that you are worrying over something that in the larger scale of things probably won't matter a darn.

I suggest a few songs for you.

Billy Joel
"Angry Young Man"
"Only the Good Die Young"
Bruce Springstein
"Glory Days"

Older than I just was ,and younger than I will soo be.

I know, people keep telling me that, but as you know, it's not that simple...

There was that one time I went to get my driver's license renewed at the DMV one afternoon....

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I've found that keeping myself busy helps pick up the pieces of a broken heart. That and realizing that, in time, I will feel better.
