I will be going down to Daytona with my school for the annual Dayton to Daytona trip. I took a van owned by a group called DOTS. DOTS sucked-plain and simple (Though it was 60 bucks round trip which was a good deal). I was wondering if anyone had some alternative ideas or know of another company that could pick me up from MCO and take me to the A1A (and reverse).

Thanks.

Unfortunately, that is about it...

You can always hire a service to drive you, my dad did it once, it is deadly expensive though.. There is a horrible lack if infrastructure in Florida. The light rail initiative that would link this area keeps getting killed year after year..

Sorry I can't be of more help!

Now it should be "IFLYDCA"

Yeah DOTS is the only service unless you want to rent a Charter bus or something... How many people are you trying to transport?

Is hiring a car an option, I guess depending on length of stay. You could always check Greyhound.  embarrassed

Alamo will rent a car to folks 21 and over. It will cost you a little more but it beats having to take busses and taxis in Florida where public transportation isn't that great. Take the Bee-Line east towards Titusville and then take I-95 North. All told it will be about a 90 minute trip.

Well... 528 east to 417 north to I-4 east will get you there in a little less than an hour...

528 is I-95 are pretty far out of the way

If you pay me $25 for gas ill drive you guys from MCO-DAB, just tell me when...Ive got room for 3 people + 1 in the back of the SUV  Wink

BTW, the Bee line to I-4 is the fastest way to get to DAB...going to Titusville and then I-95 is about 10 minutes longer. If you drive 87-88mph the trip takes 1 hour from ERAU, but this is impossible because theres always cop...in Sanford.

While it may be a bit further I'm sure it will be less time as you wouldn't have to put up with the construction on I-4 in northern Orange and southern Volusia Counties. You can fly along the Bee-Line and 95 versus stop and go on I-4 if you hit it at the wrong time which lately has seemed to be all the time.

I know a Polish guy I graduated with, loved LOT, had the logo on his graduation cap even. Just wondering if you were him.

When I went to school down in Daytona there was another shuttle service other then DOTS but it was even worse then them. Me and a few of my friends would usually just all chip in and rent a car even with the under 25 fee it came out to be cheaper then taking DOTS and you could leave when you wanted and come back when you wanted. I know Dollar, Alamo, Budget and Enterprise (they give 10% off if you show your Riddle ID in Daytona) will rent to someone 21 to 25 for an extra $25. Hertz and Avis will not rent to someone under 25 unless they are in the military or the company they work for has a deal with them. You could always take a cab it’s a $130 flat rate ($30 for each extra person) with Yellow Cab from Daytona and Orlando’s airport ($100 to Sanford’s airport) and vice versa. It is a lot more but I had to do that once at 11 at night because DOTS doesn’t run that late and all the cars at the airports were gone because of the race.
