The talk about state fair's got me thinking...

What was YOUR worst theme park experience? Throwing up on the Big Dipper? Food Poisoning from the Burgers? Spending £15 at the coconut shy and winning NOTHING (even though they GUARENTEE that you will win something!)

Not really mine, I suppose, but my buddy got splashed with someone's puke whilst walking under a rollercoaster's track. The carriages zoomed past, and all of a sudden my friend is covered by barf... I, on the other hand, didn't take a single hit...  rotfl

Cheers

Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.

Fell asleep playing Rollercoaster Tycoon. Woke up, and the park was a mess of barf and stuff.

I once got stung by a wasp at a park called 'Oakland' somewhere in Wales.

Was at Six Flags Over Somewhere (just kidding...Great America in Gurnee, IL) and went with a hella large group of friends. We went in two groups on the Power Tower thing that lifts you up, holds you up there and then drops down. First group went, came down. Yay. Second group included moi. We went up. Didn't come down. Didn't come down. Didn't come down. Then after thirty minutes or so, without warning, dropped down. When that happens they are supposed to let you down "gently" I guess...but I guess someone at the bottom in the first group talked them into just dropping us down without warning.

Fun!

Eternal darkness we all should dread. It's hard to party when you're dead.

It's Oakwood.... and sadly it's probably not the park to refer to when light heartedly discussing 'your worse theme park experience'.

(Martin & Simon, I'm sure you're not aware of what I'm referring to, so please don't take this as any kind of criticism of you.)

A Google on Oakwood and Hydro, will bring up more info if you're interested.

Got stuck on a ride at Alton Towers - Enterprise it was called - sort of a wheel with two of you in a car of say 30 cars spinning round at ground level to start with then an arm (as such) lifts the wheel up at a 90 degree angle so the cars raise upward in line with the wheel (best way I can describe it) - well this was supposed to be for about 3 mins and the arm was supposed to bring the cars/wheel down but......you guessed it, the arm got stuck and we was holdin on for dear life watchin a lot of activity below and feelin rather sick - eventually the speed reduced and the arm started to lower so we knew the ride was slowing down, we whizzed around at ground level and finally stopped - all the people including me and my friend fell out of the car and could hardly walk......The ride was then closed down.....not surprising - I will never forget it and will NOT be goin on it again, not sure if it is still in operation at the park !!

Just found that out - no wonder I couldn't see it on Google!

I remeber you had to get a train from the entrance to the actual park. And, being about 5 at the time, thats the limit of my recollections!

I was overindulging on Vodka the night before I went to a theme park. I wake up at 8am. My girlfriend takes me to Sonic (a fastfood place) where I get some greasy crap. Well she proceeds to drive like an animal for an hour before we get to Arlington (Six Flaggs Over Texas). Well we get out of the car-it is August in Dallas so it was about 100 degrees. I didn't feel real well so I decided to puke between two cars. I felt bad as there was a child and her mother on the other side of one of the cars. Not to mention I puked on the driverside, so it would have been quite a hurdle for the person to get into their truck. I felt better downed some water and eventually went on some tamer rides, until I was 100% then it was fine.

Gross part:
we were walking back later that day to the car and I wanted to see if the cars had moved from where I puked...There were some crows eating the Sonic food that I had puked up earlier!

Go big or go home
