The Red Sox played their annual Patriot's Day game with the traditional 11:00 AM start, beating the Mariners on a walk-off two run homer from Mark Loretta in the bottom of the 9th.
For those of you who don't know, Patriot's Day honors the actions of April 19, 1775 and the "shot heard 'round the world." It's a state holiday here in MA, but some of us are working (well, at work I mean).

OK, Mike: To that I'll say: congratulations to Pedro for win #200.
Mets look pretty damn good so far. Good tidings, especially if Wagner can hold up.

P.S. - You may blast BOS, but there's a play-off atmosphere here even in April. Today felt like an October classic. Five lead changes, and a dramatic, two-out HR in the ninth to send people home happy. It really makes the season fun. So go boil your head.

The Sox are actually playing a lot better than I thought they would. I still think the pitching long term is a concern, but if they keep playing well, they will contend for a playoff spot all year long....Something I didn't think they would do.

I will give them that. I hate the Sox, but I'd still like to go to a game at Fenway. Much better than the Metrodome, which I paid a visit to on Sunday.

Well, face it. Fenway Park just isn't "Family Friendly" like a lot of the newer parks are. That's why it should be torn down and replaced with a multipurpose dome located in Chelmsford, Mass.
As for the current ballpark site, they could put up a

Hey, Chelmsford would be a lot easier for me to get to than Boston when I'm up visiting my family. Then again, being at either one would be fine, as long as a certain team from the Bronx is in town and ends up victorious at the end of the day.
