I just saw the new Mercedes S class walking home from work. God is it ugly! I thought MB was the last bastion of elegant design, I mean, even a Lexus looks better!

Yes, the new S class is definitely ugly. And it will appear even more ugly if you look at the inside - there is a wannabe-luxury analog clock in an antique grandmother-pearl-brown. My Casio I was wearing when I was 12 looks better

To be fair, though, the last S-class looked so great that it is hard to make a better looking car. The new S-class is a great car, but I preferred the older one in terms of design. At least, it still looks better than the S-class of the early nineties...

The exterior of the old one was far better IMO. Teamed up with some nice AMG alloys and it looked great

Whilst I like the exhaust I'm not a fan of the new AMG alloys. They look like the 18" ones off the old model and the body kit looks as bad as the old one...

I saw it last weekend in Geneva. Didn't look that bad at all really, in fact for me first time I don't find a Mercedes that butt ugly.
Can't beat the CLS though, what a stunner that is, although I don't think that's based on the S-class, is it the E-Class, or neither?
I've been driven round a track in one of them too, what noise those AMG V8s make.
