Someone In Australia Wants To Access My Computer!

I have a firewall to protect such attacks, but this IP, which I found out is from Australia via this: http://antionline.com/tools-and-toys/ip-locate/ has been trying to access my computer quite a few times today alone. I'm just concerned that one of these days, it'll be able to get in and screw me up again. I just had to replace my HD to the tune of $100, which doesn't sound like much, but it is to me right now. What else can I do? If it helps any, my firewall is ZoneAlarm. Thanks for any help.

Why did you have to replace your harddisk? Its nearly impossible to physically damage a computer or its components through hacking.

Just keep Zonealarm up at all times, ensure your computer is disconnected from the internet while booting (all software firewalls are disabled until very late in boot, leaving your computer vulnerable) and keep uptodate with Windows patches.

I don't know the exact reason. It just started making weird whirring noises and eventually, I got the blue screen. I restarted the computer, and Windows wouldn't even load, so I ran the Windows install/repair disk and it couldn't even repair it or reinstall it, so I took it to a friend of mine over the weekend. He tried running some other diagnostics utility that he had on a CD and the computer crapped out in the middle of the diagnostic as well, which led him to believe that somehow the HD crapped out. We bought a new one, and now my computer has been running perfectly for the last 5 days.

I've been disconnecting the internet when I'm not using it, is there anything else that can be done?

The computers I have purchased at work in the last several years have had more than their share of hardware failures. I have the feeling that some of the low computer prices lately have come at the expense of quality.

There are many other programs out there that can help you get rid of this problem. If you are using the typical internet connection, you might be broadcasting your address to this machine in Australia, which then tries to access your machine. Try to download several anti-spyware programs to clean up your HD as well.
