Get beer and chips ready, the UEFA Cup semifinals are tonight and we have the following games:

Steaua Bukarest vs. FC Middlesbrough

and

FC Schalke 04 vs. FC Sevilla

The Schalke vs. Sevilla game is interesting, I am curious as hell how many times dive king Asamoa will topple down tonight.  Wink

I'd love to see a Steaua Bukarest - FC Schalke 04 final, and see Schalke lose that one Big grin

S04, die Schei-... errm, sorry, got caught up in the usual disapproval song for Schalke  Wink . Anyway, Lincoln and Kuranyi are not playing, so Schalke might actually have a chance. As far as Asamoah goes, I honestly can't stand that guy, but at least he is trying to win a game, unlike Lincoln, who susually goes "Too bad, my pass didn't make it, I'll just stand still now for the other 85 minutes"  Yeah sure

I really hope that they won't win the cup, I still remember the circus from 1997 when they drove the cup around the stadium before every home game for at least half a year.  Wink

What a boring match. Schalke was lucky that Sevilla did not use their chances.

I should be on your RU list for that post....

The day I tell you how to fight like Polish fan is the day Eintracht win the Champions League. (Possibly less likely that an asteroid falling on top of the roof of my car as Im driving through a tunnel)

Here's a thought to munch on while you sip your Mirinda and watch your damn game show on SAT.1...My hatred for B. Munich extends to the fact that I was thinking of getting rid of my mobile provider, T-Mobile USA, How dare they put up their logos on those baboon's tops!

We weren't bored defending on our half for the whole match.

Signed,

That will happen on the same day that Bayern has to relegate to the Oberliga :-P . Though I will admit that Frankfurt is doing a good job in bringing up new talents. Oh, and I share Bruchhagen's dislike for divers  Wink .

Thats why we made you join the EU  jump

This game today was so awful, no comparision to the champions league games... I think the UEFA cup has become the "loser cup", it is so bad it isn't worth watching anymore... The last game which was great was Liverpool against Alaves.

I just hope we do not copy Schalkes way of playing at the world cup...

Germany are in the World Cup? How'd that happen??  flamed
Going to be quite embarrising to be knocked out first round on home soil eh?  Wink

I shouldn't be saying anything though , South Africa haven't qualified for 06 and the chances of South Africa making it through the group stages in 2010 are about as likely as...well...um...yeh...

I am curious which team will make it into the final.

I'm watching the Boro - Steaua game. At the moment Boro is down 1-2 in the first half. A good game until now with probably more goals to come.

Amazing game by Middlesborough! Big grin After trailing by two goals and having to score four goals, they've done it again! All partly thanks to Steaua's lousy goalkeeper.

Boro 4-2 Steaua Bukarest

If anyone was following the game on DSF, those comments about the Goalkeeper were hillarious  rotfl

Astonishing. Unbelievable. Wonderful! Hopefully the Final will actually see the bonny Boro not go 2-0 down before deciding to play some football! The 1st 20 minutes would have been as shocking a performance as any this season (including the 7-0 thumping by Arsenal) the players being lethargic, uninspire and overwhelmed with the occasion. Thank heavens that Southgate's hamstring felt a little sore and so Maximum Pasta could come on and probably play his best game for the club. If anything, the game could (and should) have ended up as a 8-2 victory given the 4 easy chances that were spurned.
