This is pretty common i guess. I new movie store opened up next door to my work (a grocery store) and i went in the movie store to open an account and the attendent is pretty cute. Luckly working right next to her I can see her often and am able to see when she works (ok so it sounds like i am "stalking" already, but i am not) Working with the public I know there is a fine line between being friendly and being labeled a stalker-it has happened at my store although it was more of the guy being 40 and the girl being 24 and the guy being 35 or so and the girls being 16-20. I know the girl and I are the same age because when i opened the account she took my driver's license and she's like "Are you under 18?" I'm like "no, I'll be 20 in June." She's like "oh.. yeah we're born in the same year, duh!" Ok so she's not the brightist girl out there, but I'll give it to her it was 9:30 at night. I was wondering what are some good ideas to get to know this girl and not come off as a creep or stalker?

Talking to her would most likely help.

Well, obviuosly don't talk about the holocaust, Star Trek, or your latest Calculus exam. Just be yourself and be friendly. The worst she can say is no. As much as hearing that suck there are more fish in the sea just waiting to be caught.

Neither are you, since you cannot spell the word brightest.

Do you want me to come over there and just ask her out for you? I have no problem in doing that.

Every one of your threads about these girls would be solved if you did not find them on myspace.com or if you actually talked to them in REAL LIFE.

Ask her for a movie reccommendation. Ask her what she like in movies. Get a conversation going. Ask her what the last movie she saw was. Then ask her out to for dinner and a movie some night.

A leads to B, which leads to C. Not hard really once you get over the nervous nellies and grow a set of cojones.

It's a pretty good setup, but if you're nervous enough to ask strangers for help you might want to take things a little slow.

Ask her for some movie recommendations when the store isn't too busy and see if you can get a conversation going. After you've chatted about movies a couple times and branched out into other topics, why not ask her to join you for lunch? Once you've had a chance to chat over lunch ask her on a date. This doesn't all have to occur on the same day and in your case it probably shouldn't.

If you want to know how to avoid looking like a creep, just be relaxed about it and don't act like it's a do-or-die thing that you can't handle losing. Maybe this girl isn't the one or maybe you're just not quite ready to be Mr. Smooth yet. No problem. Just remember that every girl is, at the very least, a chance to practice for the next. The only reason you're on here asking questions is because you haven't been talking to enough girls. Eventually this will become secondhand knowledge to you and you'll be able to work on your own without any hesitation.

You should rent some sappy love story (like Elizabethtown) and when you hand it to her, just sorta look away and be like "I wish I had someone to watch it with, but since my girlfriend just left me, I'll just watch it alone, oh well." Trust me, it works.  Wink

This is how I met my wife, I worked at a video store, she worked at the sandwich shop down the street. I would go there on my breaks to buy dinner. That was my cover story anyway and not the real reason I was going there. We would just make friendly conversation, which developed into flirting, at which point it became easy.
Stop in to rent movies after work and try to strike up a conversation. As others have said, a good way to start this would be to ask her what movies she recommends. You could also ask her to look up movies you can't find in the store and talk while you guys are walking to find it and away from the counter. Pick the movies wisely, just go with old comedies or something. Once you've done that a few times, you could ask her if she can help you find a movie that some actor was in but you can't remember the name of the movie. Our store had a reference book for this thing, so I would often have to look this sort of thing up. All perfectly suitable reasons to talk to her. Ask her for her name after she helps you the first time, thank her by name, and refer to her by her name from that point on.
It's probably pretty likely she'll stop in to where you work at some point, so be sure to lend a helping hand. Get to know her just a little bit and ask her to go do something. There's really no need to be nervous about it, unless you really are stalking her but I wouldn't call any of these things out of line. Be polite and confident- and you don't have to put pressure on yourself to think of exactly the right things to say. Talk and go with the flow, like talking to one of your buddies.

Dude, one word for you: RELAX!

You obviously don't have the skill to just bust out and ask her, so take it slowly. Rent movies, make small talk, you'll find out more about her that you could possibly use to your advantage in this wooing process.

As for which movies to rent, don't go with anything too lame, i.e.: shit like Street Fighter, Van Damme movies, chick flicks (this will totally give away your intentions, no sane heterosexual male willingly watches these movies.)

I have composed a list of following movies that will probably work for you:

What women want, Sleepless in Seattle, Maid in Manhattan, You've got mail, 13 going on 30, Ghost, Elizabethtown, Uptown Girls, Kate and Leopold and Runaway Bride.

HUH?

If you're gonna do this, you oughta save the time and effort, and just tell her you've go no balls. And any potential relationship would definitely involve HER wearing the pants...

The way I see it... all of these type of movies are date movies... not movies you should use to define yourself to someone who doesn't know you. Rent these movies for one of your dates when your goal is to be doing anything BUT watching the movie by the ending of it.  Wink

What a Tool. You obviously are pussywhipped in a relationship (assuming you have gotten pussy, which by this post seems very VERY unlikely)

I had this same situation play out last summer. A kindve hot girl worked at a gas station I would always stop at on my way home. I had the balls and just straight asked her the second or third time I was in there if she wanted to do something, and she said yeah. I had a good time w/ her a couple times, got what I wanted out of it, and then I cut ties. But go for it man, don't be like 90% of the people on here, just go for it.

Just go with old comedies, stuff you'd actually watch. The plus side of this is that you aren't wasting your money.

Start small talk and take it easy.
You need to be enjoying it and relaxed - if possible  Smile - because it shows on your face. Then it'll be much easyer.
Remember, you're the hot shit ... Okay, maybe not right now, but you're on your way to becoming it, so she better catch her chance with you before it's too late

Quoting KLM672 (Reply 2):
I am just nevous because I've seen it so many times.

One day you'll see that there was no reason for being nervous.

And make sure she deserves you, i mean if she doesnt smile back and is super cold with you, then you dont want to keep trying because she'll make you feel like a jerk and you dont need that now. You need a girl that smiles back to whatever you say and makes you feel relaxed and good about yourself.

Well you seem to have already forgotten her perfectly understandable, from your description she doesnt sound like the woman of your life. But if you find her cute she's woth a shot.

Dont do like me, dont smoke too much pot and wait until you're 24 to start talking to women.

Nah, haven't forgotten about her, just had a few days off. I work until 5:30PM tomorrow, i notice she does the night shift i'll either just miss her or she'll just be starting. Right now there are two people (her and some sort of shiftleader or trainer i'm assume since it just opened) so i hope she'll direct my question rather then the other women.
Thanks again for the tips!
