I bought a laptop off ebay on saturday. It shipped on monday. On tuesday the 25th it said it left PDX, its now friday and it has not updated its location. Its supposed to arrive tomorrow. This is making me nervous as if it doesnt arrive im going to have to cancel payment to the seller and try and get my money back. Anyone know whats going on? Is the tracking in real time? or is it normal for it not to update?
Doors open, right hand side, next stop is Springfield.

If it's going across a border then FedEx takes forever if it was shipped via FedEx ground. And the FedEx tracking system is very odd, I have called them numerous times and they have way more information than the website. But I wouldn't cancel payment just yet, if it says that it has left then the seller has shipped it, it's probably not their fault.

Recently I ordered something in the USA and they sent it via UPS, when I checked the status of the package via internet and tracking number it showed "Import Scan" for two or three days, it even showed "Import Scan" after it got delivered to me, in the evening it was updated to "Arrived at the addressee".

Quoting F9Widebody (Reply 5): If it is ground, do not worry. They put it on a trailer, and nothing is scanned until that trailer reaches a location near your home, hence no tracking info. It will be there, count on FedEx.
F9Widebody is right. I ship packages at work on a daily basis via Fed Ex Ground. They leave San Diego and head for either Phoenix or Riverside, then if they are going across the country, they usually end up on trucks going towards that area. Sometimes, they stop off at multiple places and the tracking number, if scanned, will be updated on the fedex website. If you call Fed ex, they will tell you where it left and where its next location is going to be.
