I pay around 300QR/month ($80/month) for my ADSL connection. Its a rip off, but its because the internet company here has a monopoly and there is no competition so they can get away with high prices. But, there should be another company opening within 2-3 years so things will hopefully change.

This is definitely rip-off. I have a 1 Mbit/s ADSL connection from T-Online and I pay 9.95 EUR/month for it. There are even cheaper ISPs here.

Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.

512K ADSL. We get shit speeds here becuase a certain telco wants to have a monopoly like it once did and charges through the roof on wholesale and won't introduce faster technologies unless it gets things its way.

Usually, I'm on 2 Mbit ADSL shared with my three flatmates. Total cost is 29,98 per month which works out quite nicely. That said, I think I read my ISP is offering lower fares at the time... will check.

I pay for a 2MB broadband connection, and use a wireless connection and cable.

But because of my dam phone line it only lets through 1MB.  Angry

Sympatico HSE

Download Speed: 2516 kbps (314.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 662 kbps (82.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

It looks like it would be slow but it's actually quite fast. A good transfer on LimeWire or ABC (torrents) can yield about 170kb/s transfer rate.
