Someone told me about this today and I wanted to know if anyone likes or has tried this? I guess I'll try it when I get home unless someone can discourage me not to.

Are we talking about manufactured brown sugar or natural brown sugar (raw sugar that has not been refined)?

I could see using either, as the brown sugar you buy in the stores is refined white sugar that has had sugar cane molasses added to it. Raw sugar is sugar that has not been refined into white (table) sugar. The molasses has not been spun off from the sugar crystals in the refinind process.

I've seen both brown sugar and raw sugar offered as sweeteners at some coffeeshops. You see the raw sugar (Best known brand is "Sugar In The Raw", which comes in light brown packets) more often than you do the manufactured brown sugar.

If you take Sugar it is ok I suppose. Not as sweet as white sugar but better with coffee as it does not hide the flavour so much in my opinion.

Man, I love brown sugar in coffee. I prefer the pure demerara sugar which is unrefined. I'll take regular brown sugar if demerara isn't available.

It adds a smooth mellow flavour to coffee, far nicer than the sweet refined white sugar taste. Demerara sugar goes great with Espresso.

My dad takes his with raw sugar, my mom with just milk and me with 1 white sugar and 1 milk. I am talking about brown sugar like you use in baking. The powdery stuff.

I love it with coffee, but NOT with tea. While it improves the coffee, it ruins the tea.

Word.

A nice rich cup of coffee is bold but well balanced without any additives. The quality of the water is parmount in producing a smooth cup of coffee.
