I dont know if anyone has posted this link before, but I don't want you to miss out on this cool website :P

http://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/uncgi/Earth/action?opt=-p

you are able to see where it is day and night, and the location of the moon and the sun, and what it looks like from their position looking back at motherearth.

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

Somewhere online I picked up a 20" x 40" print of the "Earth at Night" satellite composite photo for only $80. The print essentially consisted of the same night view you present here but was a composite showing night across the entire globe at once. I say only $80 as this was actually on (Fuji) photo paper and well printed - not on poster stock.

I ordered a custom frame (black anodized) with a dark blue matting surround (think the color of the message postings on a.net). I don't want this to appear as an ad so I guess you'll have to search yourself or message me if anyone is interested (I am not affiliated with this product but I thought it might be of interest here).

You people have been duped. Earth is flat. It even says so in the bible. Shame on all of you.

I've seen wall 'clocks' that do the same thing. But that desktop is pretty sweet.

Theres a lot more fancier programs but you have to pay for those.  Sad However for just a background like this...works for me!

You can get something similar in the Star Alliance screen saver: http://www.staralliance.com/star_alliance/star/frame/main_10.html

Not my favourite alliance, but it's fun to watch the dots depicting their flights.

Apparently the flight tracks are based on actual schedules - not realtime but the effect is still amazing.

Yeah that is very cool! I had it installed on my computer some time ago. The only thing is that I think it is going too fast, but very cool indeed
