A special constable has been stabbed to death outside her home - a week after she challenged three burglars there.
Nisha Patel-Nasri, 29, was off duty and in her night clothes when she was attacked in Sudbury Avenue, Wembley, in north-west London, late on Thursday. Neighbours, who alerted police after they heard her scream, gave her first aid but she was later pronounced dead in hospital, Scotland Yard said. A man wearing a hooded top was seen running away towards Harrow Road. Police said they were looking at the attempted burglary, in which three men tried to get into the house through the front door, as one line of enquiry. The men left after coming face-to-face with Mrs Patel-Nasri.
'Popular constable'
The hairdresser was alone at the house she shared with her husband, Fadi Nasri, before the attack took place. Mr Nasri, who ran a limousine hire company from home, had gone out for the evening. It is believed the victim left the house and neighbours reported hearing a disturbance. Police also administered first aid and Mrs Patel Nasri was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead. Scotland Yard described her as a popular member of the Metropolitan Police's Special Constabulary in the London Borough of Brent. Specials have the same powers as fully-sworn police and assist officers with their duties in their spare time.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Sad to hear this. England has really lost a lot of officers lately.

Disturbance between her and the husband? Hm... Anyways, good thing cops don't have guns in England, so nobody gets killed...  Yeah sure

As US cops have guns does that mean there are no murders or other violent crimes down there?

Ryangooner is a UK Policeman I believe. Ask him if he wants to be armed?

I didn't say it happened because they are unarmed. I said it just shows that just because they ARE unarmed, doesn't mean that life is all nice and beautiful. Cops in my homecountry are also unarmed.

Never said that. But the most common argument in UK is that guns create more violence. Well, obviously a knife can also kill

Perhaps we can get through this thread without dragging it through the crapper repeating the old and tired "UK cops vice US cops and guns crap" because we all already know the answers to that . . .

Focusing on the dead officer: I'd make bets those hoodlums laid waiting for her, and finally found their opportunity.

 tombstone  Officer Nasri.

literally anything we can get our hands on can kill too....

regardless whether cops are armed or not this poor lady was not on duty and would never have been armed in these circumstances.

Another officer killed, the numbers are rising this year.

RIP

Ryan

Her attackers were probably just a bunch of theving thugs. It also says that even a knife is as bad as a gun in the wrong hands and situation.
I would assume that she was a valuable part of the Indian population of her community, probably trying to help curb the thugs like those that murdered her. I hope the catch, try and incacarate upon conviction these thugs for the rest of their life. This is especially crual as so few cops (even specials like this woman) are ever killed there.

Wether she had a gun is a moot point. She was on her nightclothes when opening the door. Does every officer who carries a gun and is on his/her nightclubs goin to or in bed is going to go to the door with their gun?
