Jeez, guys. What are you talking about, "sad", and "horrible", etc.? These were thieves. I wish that would happen every time someone tapped into pipelines that don't belong to them, or rob a store, or snatch a purse. BOOM!

How stupid can you get? I've been to countries like this, and have seen it happen. I'm ready to bet that the cause of the explosion was someone pouring gas into a tank, with spilled gasoline all over the ground for a 100 yards in every direction, and overwhelming fumes, with a lit cigarette in his mouth. I'm not joking - I've seen this happen.

On the BBC news this evening they said they were all queuing up to steal oil from the pipeline that was being tapped when the explosion occured.

First Class passengers are my favourites. They can't get any further forward without an ATPL.

Cfalk, I don't see why you think they deserved death for this. Whatever happened to the punishment fitting the crime and all that?

I agree. Besides, they probably were thieves because they had no other way of having something to eat. Maybe if the real thieves were to get punished you would not have 200 people needing to steal oil

The punishment was done by themselves. Darwin did it, if you like. THEY blew themselves up by doing something stupid. Are you telling me that if you were near a pipeline that was spilling gasoline all over the place, that you would stick around? Not me. I kinda like the idea of staying alive.
