I'm also quite surprised David Odonkor made it - apparently Klinsi wanted somebody who could run all they way down to the line and get crosses in. And take on people etc. Perhaps Paul Freier would have been an option there, too (he is on the stand-by list).
Also surprised at Hanke and Asamoah - I would have seen Kuranji in front of either. But next to Klose and Podolski, Germany hasn't really got a 3rd decent striker.

I think it was an excellent decision to leave Kuranyi at home, that guy has been totally overrated for years. On the other hand I cannot understand the nomination of Hanke who has been playing a mediocre season and who won´t be able to compete during the first two matches.
I can´t say much about Odonkor except for the fact that he can run very very fast...haven´t watched him play a lot. I think that Klinsmann just had to come up with one BIG surprise to keep up the image of a person who does not fear funky and sometimes unpopular measures. If Germany performs well at the World Cup, he´s gonna be celebrated and will keep his job for at least another two years (in case he wants to). If not, well, there will be a frequent traveller less between LAX and FRA soon.

Well, let's put it this way: With both Klose and Podolski in great condition, we won't need the additional attackers anyway . Of course, either of those two can be injured, but if that were to happen, we'd be screwed anyway.

Well, this should be interesting...considering Namibia is (and never will be at this rate!) in the World Cup, I've been a German fan for a while, and will continue to be this year. Can't wait to see this crew in action!
Not really a quality player, I'm a little surprised by this.
Quoting Sabena332 (Reply 9): What a question, we will become world champion. Wink
As Germany has already won 3 world cups they have 3 stars above their crest. These stars used to be red, yellow and black (one each). Now the Germans or perhaps just Adidas are feeling so confident that they have made all the stars yellow so that adding a fourth wont be an issue.
