Same here, they do what they want and don't need "babysitters". As long as "what they want" includes some cuddling every now and then and not too much furniture-testing, the cat is great.

Cats, they don't need your attention and I never have to pick-up after them, they look better.  Wink

Ditto -- definitely my favourite animals. They are independent as you said, and they know perfectly well that a bit of cuddling and purring at the right time is all they need to do to be loved...  Wink

I also like big cats in general, such as lions and tigers. I find Siberian snow tigers especially fascinating:

Whales. They are peaceful world-travelers, communicative and intelligent.

Tigers and Leopards - pure beauty.

Dalmatians and Retrievers: agile, powerful, sometimes they are stubborn, but generally they have a distinct will to please.

But cats consider you kind of a moving furniture. Dogs are probably the most loyal friends, cats are "just there".

Any type of cat. Housecat, wildcat, they are great animals. Dogs are nice too, and I have one, but cats will always be #1 in my opinion.

That one is fine since it don't live in Georgia. It has some cousin here in my neighborhood that is fixing to get shot if I get a chance next time it decides my house is a food source at 4 in the morning.
