This is a cool car ad.

I noticed a slight love affair with Ford.
Do they have any involvement with aviation?

RealHigh:
I am not sure if Ford has much involvement in aviation. Many of there adds makes reference to aviation. My brochure for my Lincoln indicates 'four turbine styled aluminum rims' like a 747.

I'm so old I remember all those ads. My favourite was the Continental ad at IAD. I'd forgotten that the T-Bird was that ugly in 1970 though.

Quit calling an airport ramp "Tarmac" and a taxiway "runway".

The new Explorer-based Lincoln SUV is going to be called the "Aviator", I am not sure if a flight related name is very good though, after all the bad publicity the Exploder got for flying off the road  Big thumbs up.

Sheesh Superfly! One really has to dig into the archives to find these. It looks like the the 1960s (the jet age) was the best time to find car pics with an aviation theme. Here's a 1970 Monaco featured in a 1969 magazine ad. Incidentally, your Thunderbird ad features in the same magazine.

1. 'Countdown' song and video by RUSH which featured the Space Shuttle released Sept. 1982

2. First model year for that body style

3. Parachutte pants the guy is wearing was in style then

4. All of the above

25 Post contains images Superfly : Here are some aviation related ads from my broucher. Can you rotate this one for me?
26 Post contains images Starship : No problem - made it 25% bigger too!
27 Post contains images Superfly : Thanks Starship!
28 Post contains images Starship : Here's another for the BMW 7 series that also did not fit the scanner
29 Superfly : What year is that BMW ad from?
30 Whistler : Looks like ~1982 to me.
31 Superfly : I'd like to find that BMW ad.
32 Post contains images Starship : Superfly, I believe the BMW ad came out of a 1978 edition of National Geogeraphic - I can't remember the month off the top of my head. How about this
33 Post contains images Whistler : LOL, if only they had photoshop, it would take a lot less effort .
34 Post contains images Superfly : Nice shots! I've seen a similar car ad that had a parachute.
