Quoting Jamesbuk (Reply 2): Im doing GCSE's next year and im not looking forward to them!
How hard has the english one been and are they as hard as the teachers make them seem?
Well having witnessed your spelling, grammar and punctuation, I wouldn't mind going out on a limb and tell you your going to fail!

Having looked through my old english books in the last couple of days, I can tell you that things really do change in a yeah! Haha

English wasn't too bad today. The questions are quite predictable really, so you can't come that unstuck. It's just frustrating having to learn a whole anthology over two years only to need 4 poems and 2 stories in the exam today!
ANYWAY...Yeah, Good Luck Daleaholic, BradWray and anyone else doing GCSE's like me too! I'm doing English Literature+Language, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, German, Geography, Drama, Systems & Control and R.E Short Course, 24 Exams isn't fun! Especially since I've only done 5 so far!

I did my English GCSE exam today, 2 and a half hours long!, Seriously though it flew by. We had to answer questions on Of Mice and Men, Romeo and Juliet and then we had a section on poetry.

You'll do fine as long as you do your revision
Ive got my GCSE Science coming up soon, not looking forward to that one I can tell ya!

Yeh well im not very good at that whole english crap, my theory is if I can speak it and write it to a degree then its ok but none of my teachers agree!
Looking back 6 months though my whole grammar and punc has improved..... Slightly.

I'm currently taking exams at King's College London.
I have finished 6, and I have 3 left to go.
Finished:
BA2085 Anatomy of the Head and Neck (2 exams: spot and written)
BA2021 Structural Basis of Human Function (another anatomy course) (2 exams: spot and written)
BA2300 Essentials of Embryology
BL0212 Reproduction, Growth and Development
Each of my exams has been 2 hours (except for the anatomy one, 3 hours) long. King's College London hold their exams off-campus, at the Royal Horticultural Halls (near Victoria station) and Westminster Central Hall.
Then, when I finish all my exams, I start my summer research project at Guy's Hospital craniofacial department (for which I got my grant). So I'll still be here in London most of the summer.

I've done 3 1st-year university exams so far - Statistics, Public Law and English, all written. Sadly, the bulk of this year's exams are coming up in a couple of weeks:
-Political Geography (3 parts, written and oral: 29/5/06, 3/6/06 and 4/6/06)
-Political Economics (done the first part, two to go still but we don't know when!)
-Private Law (oral; I might defer this one to September...that's the neat thing about university, you can do exams pretty much when you want )
-History (oral 3/7/06)
-French (written 1/6/06, oral in September probably)
-Sociology (written 19/6/06, oral 21/6/06)
Don't know how I'm going to manage all of this, but I'm still glad I finished school last year. I couldn't bear the thought of having to take my finals all over again.
If all goes well, I should be done by July 8th, then in August I'm off to Russia to learn Russian, yuppee

I had my GCSE exams this time last year. *Begin self gloat*4A*'s, 4A's and 2B's*End self gloat*. I wish all of you the best of luck, make sure that you revise topics thoroughly and try your best - that's all you can do.
I'm currently half way through my A level examinations (first year - AS). I have Sociology tomorrow and then a Geography unit on Friday. Then we have half term after which I have History and Economics units. Fun, eh?

Good luck to everyone - I'm exam free this year (yay). Though starting September, I get the absolute joy of CAA/JAA exams, plus internal school exams - 6 exam periods in 7 months! Eep!
Was doing my A2s this time last year (AABD), so I know what you're all going through!
