A New Proposal For Gitmo

Since it appears that one day the prison at Guantanamo Bay will be empty I would like to propose a new use for this place.

In the interest of a less confrontational political system in the US I propose that we each offer one person from the right and one person from the left to be shipped to Gitmo and disappear forever.

To open negotiations I will give up Ann Coulter and to balance her, the left gives up Michael Moore. These have to be no-debate, decisions of the judges are final, and pairs of comparable magnitude.

Anyone offering someone from either side without balancing them with one from the other column will fill that slot themselves.

Rush Limbaugh and Jane Fonda is my second suggestion.

Next!

Why send these people to a nice tropical area.

Let's turn Gitmo over to a good develper, bring in some good hotels, a pier for cruise ships and let Americans get a tast of Cuba.

If you don't like that idea, send Tom Cruise and Jerry Falwelll.

I like this suggestion. Trading Rush for someone who hasn't had anything significant to say since the 70's and when she was married to Tom Hayden.

Since that's the case, how about Jerry Falwell and Jerry Brown.

Well I like it too. They don't have to be relevant, just an annoyance.

G. W. Bush and Hillary Clinton just to knock off the biggies.

Maybe we could make it another 'Supermax' class prison, like the one in Colorado where we keep our most dangerous prisioners, including terrorists and mass murders. We could place there high level mobsters and those conviced of major finanicial crimes like the recently conviced Enron executives. We need more of these extreme prisions as we convict more high threat people who need the most miminially humane treatment. The isolated site surrounded by military, difficult for defense attorneys to get to and impossible to escape from, would be a great spot for the worst of the worst in the Federal jail system.

Great idea...one problem though....It really is Cuban land and maybe it's best to let them decide.....Who knows, maybe they don't wish to have American visitors!  Wink (role reversal).

I was there just a few weeks ago and we were told that historically there was an agreement between USA and Cuba that the land at Guantanamo Bay was to be "rented" to the US for a very low figure per year (we were told by the local guide that it was 2000 Peso/year!!!...which is obviously a very low figure and not sure of it's accuracy).

Castro has apparently promised the Cuban people that he will never cash the cheques and that the day the Americans finally leave his land, he will build a museum and display the un-cashed cheques.

Sorry, Dubya is already gone - cellmate of Hillary Clinton. I think the rule is you have to be or become a conservative and go in his place.

I second that.

From the right I would suggest Nancy Grace.

You want Coulter to vomit herself to death? Now that's cruel and unusual!

In the interest of a less confrontational political system in civ-av, can we have a representative of the fascists at Airbus, who who dictate what pilots can and cannot do, and a representative of the pinkos at Boeing who believe all pilots are created equal?

So was this just a ploy to get yourself locked in a cell with Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and the Dixie Chicks? Have you really thought it through?
