It's crap anyway!
Statistically, people who have had the most birthdays tend to live the longest.

No way would I download this. I just hope they get the bugs and weaknesses we often see with Microsoft malware before it comes out.
I'm going to download it and give it a go on one of my boxes just to see how it works. Once I determine it's yet another more slightly stable version of 95, I'll go back to XP pro.

The last 'slightly more stable version of 95' was Windows Millenium Edition. Windows hasnt used the 95 codebase since then, its all been based off the NT series.
Yes, behind the scenes has changed a bit, but it's still human code, and it's still a gui, and it's still a 'start' button on the lower left hand corner. The rest is filler/window dressing.

Tough question to answer per-say, but maybe you can answer for yourself... Why would you install a TRUE beta product onto a PC that has data attached to it, that you care about?

Quoting AirPacific747 (Reply 23): Did you install it yet? and if so, what's your experiences?
No, I'm going to have to find/buy a drive as there are no drives I can 'waste' at this point in time
25 AirPacific747: Okay. You should get yourself an external harddrive. I have a maxtor harddrive with 200 gb... it is very useful!
26 TedTAce: Wait till it shits the bed on you like my last one did. I don't trust maxtor as far as I can make them move over rough concrete with a urine stream.
27 AirPacific747: lol! :P My maxtor harddrive is a year old, and I haven't had any problems with it so far.
28 RichardPrice: Maxtor drivers are fantastic. Sure, Ive had my failures with them, but at work we use them almost exclusively and we cannot really attribute a greate
30 JamieD: I wouldn't. Performance under VMWare would be terrible.

32 Nighthawk: Yes, thats the down side of the VMWare approach. On the other hand its easy to install then remove, so I might give that a try first and see how it w
33 JamieD: Aero is Vista's new GUI (graphical user interface), which includes all the fancy stuff like translucent effects.
34 RichardPrice: Its the new GUI display system (the thing that you see and the technology behind it).
35 AirPacific747: Thanks! wow it looks pretty cool! Would an ATI X600 do? And does anyone know if FS will be able to run using Windows Vista?? edit: I am in doubt abou
36 Nimish: Does Vista even install on VMWare? That would be the best way to try the thing out before plonking it on a full fledged pc.
37 Rolfen: The GUI is nice I guess but I'll have to get the beta to see if microsoft have finally decided to improve the responsiveness and multitasking performa
38 KaiGywer: I was just about to spend $6 on the DVD but figured I'd try to download it first. About 500 k/sec and 1.5 more hours and I'll have it. It'll be intere
39 KaiGywer: I installed it, and trying it as we speak: Start menu is way different. Will take some getting used to.
40 OB1504: I'd download it provided that Firefox and Flight Simulator were compatible with it. Can anyone confirm if this is the case or not?
41 Newark777: If I have a 40GB external hard drive, would I be able to install it on to there? Harry
42 TedTAce: I wouldn't. BUT that being said; make sure your BIOS supports USB booting, if you are not sure; Don't. Just go shopping for an internal like I will b
43 Newark777: Gotcha, looks like I'll be bringing the old POS back inside from the garage. Harry
44 Dougloid: I was seriously considering it but it's time limited to 2007 then you gotta buy a copy. I just got done spending $60 putting XP home on my bargain ba
45 KaiGywer: I know this is only a Beta, but figured I would give it a try. At least I know what it's like by the time it comes out for sale. If you don't like the

47 KaiGywer: Leskova, that's funny. I haven't had any performance issues (yet). Runs just as good as XP did for me. I have a laptop with a P4 2.8 Ghz, 512 Mb RAM,
48 RichardPrice: Vista runs on some configurations with extra debug code active, because these configurations are ones Microsoft hasnt yet been able to test. Thats why
49 Leskova: That's more or less what I was guessing anyhow, since the "Update Advisor" (or whatever that program is called that you can check your system with pr
50 FlyKev: Firefox runs perfectly. FS, im going to guess will run with it, seeing as ive not found any compatibility problems yet. Its pretty sweet to look at.
