I'm off to SFO for a week in August. I've been many times before so I thought I'd try a day trip somewhere. The only place you can fly to for less than $160 seems to be LAX withAA/UA. (I've looked at WN from OAK -no joy). So what can I do for a few hours in LA? I've already been to Santa Monica, La Brea tar pits, Hollywood so any suggestions? Whats the public transport like from LAX?
Any suggestions for other destinations from SFO around August 9th, has to involve flying!
Don't try to keep up with the Joneses - bring them down to your level !

If you are into surfing at all or just enjoy watching it, Get to West Jetty park in Newport Beach and watch the mayhem when 10 or 15,ft waves crash into maybe 2 ft. of water.I tis an amazing sight to see when the surf is high.Just follow Balboa Blvd. to the end and there you are. One warning, if the place is jumping you, might have a LONG walk.
too bad most of us get too soon old and too late smart

I couldn't go to LA for a day. Toooo much to see and do! I've been in LA twice and I still haven't seen everything I want to see. I stayed in a Motel at Venice Beach my last time and it was excellent. I love LA
