Maybe it is time to start a new thread about tomorrow... This day will see some interesting games...

My predictions:

Spain - Ukraine: 2:2
Tunesien-Saudi Arabien 3:0
Deutschland - Polen 2:2

While I hope that Germany wins, I don't think so.

I think the Spain-Ukraine game is going to be interesting since Spain always has a ton of talent but never delivers. (See Jason Whitebird) He was wearing a Spain Soccer jersey when he visited NY last month.  biggrin

I can't see Poland playing to a draw with Germany. We will see!

Ok, my turn:

Spain - Ukraine: 2:1 (with Ukraine beeing the better team)
Tunisia - Saudi Arabia 2:0
Germany - Poland 2:2

Actually, I have the feeling Poland will win.
They can't effort another match like their first, but our defense will remain to be weak.

Not only the logo, the mascot - Goleo - as well.

What the heck has a lion to do with Germany? Nothing! Lions don't live here, lions have not the slightest to do with Germany, so why did they choose a friggin' lion? It is completely beyond me!

No wonder that the company which invented it went bust, they deserved it!

Spain 2 - Ukraine 1
Tunisia 1 - Saudi Arabia 1
Germany 2 - Poland 2 (As much as I want Poland to win, I think they will settle for a tie)

Will you watch the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions on Sunday? Only if coach Eric Mangini resigned after a loss.

They didn't invent it. They were merely mass manufacturing it. Goleo was actually created by the Jim Henson Shop in LA, and Nici got the licence to mass manufacture it.

I beliebe the Lion is part of some of the region's coats of arms (if not the Lion, then at least it's a feline in general), though I agree, an Eagle would have been much proper, since it's our National coat of arms.

That being said, does anyone have a picture of the German World Cup mascots from 1974?
