"...Oh I did not think you still wanted to keep them honey, they were in those boxes for years..." AHHHHHH!

I feel for you! What a loss. I hope you can rebuild your collection. Perhaps it will be better than ever!

I feel your pain!!! I had all of my stuff taken from my house. I had time tables from the early 1970's to the 1980's. I grew up in the DFW and traveled to other cities. I had lot's of cool pic's of BN during the Flying Color days. I had pics of the Braniff employees dedication of the Calder 727 at Love Field. My stuff was lost in August of 1985 and I'm still depressed. I can buy many time tables for some serious $$$, but my pics are gone for good. Your story just really makes me sad! I had some of the very early WN time tables and you can not find these. My Dad has a habit of tossing stuff without telling. He can't stand to have anything in the attic so over time he has a tossing party. when I have chance I'll show him things on Ebay I had and remind him he tossed it out. Sorry to hear about your loss and my heart goes out to you.
Steve

Don't be too angry with her. We all make mistakes like that every now and then, especially when it's something that somebody leaves behind and they haven't shown an interest in taking it with them.

Dont know if I agree. Moms have a tendancy to do this kind of thing, and they may act apologetic, but they just want to do what THEY think is best.
My mom RECYCLED my beer can collection. Over a thousands bucks worth of cans, and she got 19 cents a pound in 1986. Also included was an unopened six pack of Billy Beer, cold since 1978 or so. Oh the EBay possibilities....
Walter Paytons autograph, as well as a 1963 Bears champoinship team picture autographed at the 15th reunion, with Halas's too. Gone. "Too much stuff ion the closets".
The penant from the last college all star game at soldier field in the 70's, gone. "Cant you just get another one?"
Moral of the story, when you go off to college, rent a storage locker!!!!!

Sorry about that. The way you describe it is funny.

OMG, thanks for the laugh out loud laugh that gave me.
My dad recently updated the computer and lost all the pictures Ive taken in my life, although there was not that many aircraft photos. They were only taken with a camera phone but still...it sucked.
Can you say 'Beer Can' without sounding like a Jamaican saying 'Bacon'?

There was a discussion about my stuff prior to me going off to the Army....anyone who doesn't want their mother throwing their crap out either needs to have that conversation or move their ratpacked collections out of the house.
I'm very happy that I still have boxes in my basement with ATM receipts from 1983.

I have lost my very first airplane picture/negative that I shot when I was in 2nd grade. It was of an Ozark FH-227B at our airport...A nice evening shot..We moved in 2003 out of the house that we lived in since 1967 and many of my early collected airline materials were lost and or were ruined due to some water damage. There was my very first photo album and it too had irreplaceable pictures in it.
Also, lost in the shuffle was my Dad's old 8mm movie film and he shot an Ozark FH-227B at our airport in like 1975 and he also filmed the Braniff Boeing 727-100 that brought a campaining Ronald Reagan into our airport!!!
Oh well.....I, too, know of how it hurts to lose something you have had for years.....

Actually I was OK for a long long time until EBay. Then I saw a six pack of Billy Beer go for 500 bucks, and one single can I had for for 200. Opened that wound right up!

Since we are going to bring up repressed old memories I too had a large Beer Can Collection that is no longer around. That too was removed in 1985. I'm depressed again!
