While zapping because there's nothing better on, I stumbled on this re-run of Larry King on CNN. It's an interview with Mary Kay Letourneau and her husband, the former 6th grader with whom she had sex with and from whom she got pregnant at the time. I only know a bit of the story, which is that this former teacher had sex with him and had to go to prison for over 7 years. What I don't get is why after that, both decided to get married? Was it truely out of love or simply because of the kids?
And how was life for both of them during the prison sentence? This is something that completely baffles me. I'm not a conservative puritain, but there should be some limits when it comes to sex, especially since was in a way like rape (only that, as I recall, women don't get charged for statutory rape, only men do).

I believe the charge is different, maybe child endargement, corruption of a minor, lewd conduct with a minor etc. But there is no consentual sex between an adult and a minor. The activity does not exist under the judicial system.

In seeing some of their various interviews (like you i was flipping through channels) I would have to say it is for love. They are definitely a strange couple but in the end....who knows other than those two.
