I was watching the morning news (PHX NBC Channel 12.) and it is reported & CONFIRMED that Steelers QB Ben Rothlisberger has been fined for not wearing a helmet and not possessing a valid motorcycle license in his accident in Pittsburgh.
Let the flame war begin!!
GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!!!!

No flaming on my part brother...
He deserves it... if you ride a crotch rocket (especially a Hayabusa- which is the Suzuki 1300) without wearing a helmet and possessing a valid endorsement then you're simply an Idiot.
And just to be fair, i think Kellen Winslow Jr. is a bigger Idiot than Worthlessburger.

I was unsure of this report as it was my understanding the PA helmet law had been repealed. Then I found out the new (no) helmet law is for valid motorcycle licensees only. I'm not entirely sure this makes a lot of sense, unless the "no-license" biker is a passenger only. Anyway, I hope him a full recovery, both physically and mentally (like, get a license and wear a helmet, too). Regards...jack

Quoting AirframeAS (Reply 7): Dude, Im GLAD that Rothlisberger got busted for his stupidity. Im hoping the violin is for HIM!
Indeed. It's not for the injuries he suffered, from which I hope he fully recovers. But when he stated that he only rode Harley's in groups with his license, then he's out riding a crotch rocket alone without a license, combined with the fact that he was actually required to wear a helmet - well... the sweet music tells the story.

WellHung: Now I understand what you were saying. My apologies, I thought the violin thing was aimed at me.
I'm betting Big Ben probably won't be playing too much this fall. And hopefully ALL professional sports teams add clauses in all contracts about motorcycles and risky behavior. These rules should be strictly enforced!

At least the Seahawks know that wearing a helmet is important. I mean, football and helmets are a no brainer. Motorcycles and helmets requires a brain. Hmmmmmmm. So if that is the case....
The officals that called the game must ride motorcycles without helmets...
Any which way you look at it......
THE SEAHAWKS REALLY WON!!!
In a related case, do you think this guy scratched his gold plated Superbowl ring in the crash? Or did he have it protected by wearing gloves?

He is the extrememly talented son of a hall of fame tight end who broke his leg after 2 games in his rookie season then tore his ACL riding a motorcycle recklessly before last season.

For those not familar, Pa vehicle code states that you have to wear a helmet after two years of holding a valid Pa MC license. And to operate a motorcycle, you need to have at least a motorcycle permit which is issued after a test. He's an adult and made his own judgement and decision.

Good. The moron got what he deserves.... Too bad the fines wont make a dent in his checking accout. Honestly, this darwin-nominee is lucky he wont be spending the rest of his years eating dinner thru a staw and having a nurse wipe his ass.

Not only the fines, but the injuries (from which he will recover fully*) as well.
Quoting Cadet57 (Reply 15): Too bad the fines wont make a dent in his checking accout.
Perhaps the fines won't, but I'm sure that with this accident, you'll see lots of restrictive clauses pop into his contracts--whether they be from Campbell's Soup or the Steelers or a sportswear company. And even then, he'll have less opportunity for those promos, because it's extremely plausible to have the state of PA and the Steelers have him do PSIs. Plus he's probably also worth less now (in the eyes of brands or teams), and he'll probably see his team insurance premiums increase noticably. Put it all together and he'll be short on a significant chunk of change over the rest of his career all because of *one* incident.
*N.B.-- I wouldn't include the injuries if they were life-threatening or permanently disabiling--I'm not that cruel. But like my parents always said whenever I was learning something new, an injury is the best way to learn not to do that again.

Please stop putting those pics up! It burns my Seahawk blood! LOL!
Please stop acting like a Dalla** CryBoy fan! It hurts the respect I had for Mike Holmgren, the Seahawks and Seattle. Why is it every time the Steelers win a Super Bowl, people moan and complain like the game was theirs. Just because your Seahawks didn't prepare enough doesn't mean you have to rant about it! You're still the elite in the NFC. Enjoy it! Look at Tampa Bay, look at Baltimore. They won the Super Bowl and stunk soon after.
Every person I have seen riding a motorcycle since Ben's crash has worn a helmet. 'Nuff said. And yes, he will be ready for training camp.

No brainer decision for the cops.
Damn shame Arnie Schwarzenegger wasn't riding without the proper endorsement in PA when he had his crash. The PA cops wouldn't have hesitated to write him.

LMAO!!! No need to get upset. As long as you know in your heart that you really know the truth, you shall be set free! Breathe, and enjoy life. Soar like a Seahawk, and enjoy!
LOL! Steelers are alright, but hopefully there will be a rematch against these two teams next year. Then I can say proudly who is the best. CoughSeahawksCough....
