Lets hope someone who has not won this year win a race for once! i.e. Button, Barrichello, Kimi, Montoya, Webber  Smile I like them all however when between Ferrari and Reno....I will favour the French team. Is the Indianapolis Grandprix not on before the Canadian Grandprix? Hopefully the US grandprix will be better than last year

I leave for Montreal tomorrow morning for the race, and I've got my suitcase full of Ferrari gear, so here's hoping Schumacher takes a close win over Raikkonen and Alonso fails to finnish! To anyone else going- the support races this year look pretty boring, while in the last 4 years they had historic can am and historic grand prix cars (the coolest thing I've seen in a long time), this year it's just "feeder series" such as star mazda, formula BMW, and the ubiqitous Ferrari challenge.

It's still to early to predict, I want to see some times today. You have to assume Balonso will be fast and a potential winner, but then, Mclaren are saying they have a chance here this weekend... we will see!

I almost went into rant mode when I saw your post, then the guy underneath who corrected it saved the rant. I can't stand it when ITV do stuff like this. Its like the beeb taking Top Gear off while the WC is on.

The world doesn't revolve around the world cup, I would love to see some actual proper figures on just how much of the nation gives a shit.

I thought you guys got ITV coverage down under? I remember a few years back Murray Walker saying something like that.

I am moving back to the UK from the French GP onwards, if I could work out how to rip ITV's coverage, I would upload it. I suppose I would need some kind of TV adapter for the PC.

I can't wait to get ITV's coverage back, seems to have improved this year from the race I got off the net, its certainly a lot better than Rai's!

Bernie Ecclestone has declared that the United States Grand Prix is not important to Formula 1, and that he will not go out of his way to secure the race's future.

"It does not matter to Formula 1 if there is no grand prix in the US," Ecclestone told The Times newspaper.

"What do we get from America? Aggravation, that’s about all.

"If you say ‘good morning’ over there and it’s five past 12, you end up with a lawsuit.

"We have never got any sponsors out there.

"The television has never taken off; we have more viewers in Malta than over there."

Ecclestone's comments came as he prepared to travel to the States to negotiate the future of the Indianapolis race.

The contract to stage the US GP at Indianapolis expires after this year.

"If they want to continue having a round of the Formula 1 World Championship over there, I am happy to talk to them, which is what I will do when I get there," he added.

"But I am not prepared to subsidise a race in America."

F1 has long had a chequered relationship with the United States.

The world championship returned to America in 2000 after a nine-year absence.

During that period, the domestic NASCAR series had boomed, diminishing interest in single-seater racing.

It was hoped that F1's partnership with the world famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway would capture the public imagination.

F1's cause has been harmed by some controversial US races.

There was outrage in 2002 when Michael Schumacher handed the race victory to team-mate Rubens Barrichello at the finish line.

Then last season saw just six cars contesting the race after all the Michelin teams withdrew due to concerns over tyre safety on the circuit's fast, banked final turn.

Despite Ecclestone's comments, there remains a belief that any series purporting to be a truly global championship requires a presence in the United States.

Anyway, you will get the 'Coronation Street Will Follow' messages on the screen instead now towards the end of the race.

Yes its a rerun. Quali should be around 5-6pm UK time if it were to be shown live.

I can't remember the last time ITV showed live quali for Canada, it must disrupt quality family Saturday night entertainment.
