in the past week, I have been asked to escorted blind passengers from the check-in to gate, Not a problem really, but little did I know how emotional it would turn out to be..

Along the way I make conversation to pass the time and to make the passenger feel more comfortable, And I was amazed by what I was hearing, This one guy, in his mid 20's, suffered a car crash which left him without sight, but did that stop him? no... He DJ's, lives a normal life, goes out and what made made me bag respect for him the most, he is doing a 10K skydive to raise money for the blind..

Its those sorts of people I have respect for, Another I had yesterday, This lady is not as lucky as the other guy, as she will soon be completely blind and also completely deaf.As I was escorting her I tried to make conversation again, but not sure if it was useful as she could not hear right... But I was wrong, she could Lip read, perfectly... Her son IS also suffering the same unfortunately, and she was traveling out to see her Mum who just suffered a stroke, But again, she didn't hang her head, She is out there, having a life, enjoying herself, getting involved with groups and so on.

It did make me sad that she has so many problems that can only get worse but still I am just amazed at her spirit.

So it lead me to think, Are these people some of the best we have? With not being able to have every advantage that your average normal doe, they still smile.... Its pretty emotional to think about it, Its made me want to get involved with people like this, to help raise more spirits or to raise money for them in my own way..

So whats your take?

Bazinga punk.

I have a mum who is blind in one eye (through an accident when she was young) and both my Grandparents on her side were blind. I have great admiration for the blind and regularly give money to any charity that envolves making their lives that bit easier.

Good for you, I also respect them very much, I cannot imagine living without sight. Those people you helped will have appreciated your support very much I am sure.
