Local Dinnerparty Traditions: How Late To Arrive?

So it appears (c'est une poire) momster rhaat has decided to invite about twenty people over for dinner tonight.

As we are in a part of switzerland where everyone comes from a different country, they shall (...) prolly arrive at different times.

How late/early/on-time do you tend to arrive in order to let the host be ready or out of politeness in your own country/region.

Fortunately, I shall not attend this foolish occurrence, as the people invited are all the age of skidmarks (ie old gits). In fact, daddy rhaat wishes he could go AWOL like me.

Funny cause around here 10-15 minutes is considered as being respectful towards the host as they are almost never on time (currently seeing that with momster rhaat going balistic).

I hope that "how late" was just bad English for "what time" (from wie spät)

If you arrive late you are rude and inconsiderate and don't deserve another invitation.

After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

Being on time is the respectful, courteous, honourable thing to do.

Being early makes you an inconvenience (as in the case last night when one of my poker buddy's buddy who I've never met before showed up an HOUR early).

Being late makes you rude and inconsiderate, and will also earn you a reputation for being a bad time keeper.
