Everybody has always told me to see this movie, and how it was really good. Well last night I finally saw it with my friends, and all I can say is that it was incredible! I am really glad I saw this movie, and I thought it was very, very good.

Any thoughts from anybody about this movie?

Two thumbs down IMO. Movies are suppose to entertain you so you feel better not depress you with images of school and suicide.

No way. This is one of my favorite American films ever. It is not meant to depress you rather expose you to the "typical" boarding school atmostphere. It is, however, an extreme case. As someone who attended boarding school, I will put this disclaimer forward: this is a movie and does not represent what boarding school stands for today. The movie is from the '80s.

But it is an excellent movie. Well written and TONS of thoughts on life behind it. Watch it.

Not seen it, because I have a rule;

Never watch a film that stars Robin Williams.

And I'm sticking to it.

There are "movies" and there is "cinema". Movies are supposed to entertain you, right, but "cinema" is supposed to entertain you and to set the focus of your thoughts on a special theme ... it goes a little deeper.
Personally, I liked "Dead Poet's Society" a lot. One of my favorite films.
