Only a matter of time before this thread was started up so I thought I would be ahead of the curve. My predictions are as follows;

Germany 2 - Argentina 1
Italy 1 Ukraine 0
France 1 Brazil 2
England 3 Portugal 1

I used to think the brain is the most fascinating part of my body. But, hey, who is telling me that?

Exactly - learn from Spain's experience. Nobody gave them a chance at the start of the tournament - pointing out they always go out early. Suddenly they play well, people start saying they could go all the way and what happens ? Knocked out in round 2.....

I shall be refraining from predicting the England game for fear of jinxing them

Honestly, why can't people go back to pointing out how badly England have been playing and say how we're going to get stuffed?

You're not all German agents or something are you? I suspect the hand of arch-deviant Andreas in this.

I can start, if you really insist...

(Taken directly from my bets in the company pool on the intranet)

Germany 2 - 1 Argentina

Italy 1 - 2 Ukraine

England 1 - 2 Portugal

Brazil 2 - 0 France

England will get stuffed. Even without the various people missing from Portugal, they have still looked light years ahead of England in all their games.

England 0 - 3 Portugal.

Germany 3 - Argentina 1 last minute goal by Germany as Argentina pull out all the stops to try and tie at 2.

Italy 1 - Ukraine 1 Penalties to Ukraine (most boring game in this round)

France 1 - Brazil 2 (3 hit posts to Brazil)

England 2 - Portugal 2 Penalties to England (Major injury to a England player, but tie the game mid second half, victory in penalties)

I thought i'd add a bit more to the "prediction" part of this thread.  Wink

Pfft. It's been a bleedin' miserable party so far anyway, mainly consisting of heads in hands, screaming at the TV as to why in God's name Ferdinand is launching another 80 yard "pass" into the arms of the opposing goalkeeper.

Hard as it might be for the rest of the world to believe, England really can play a lot, lot better than they have done so far.

Predictions
Friday:
GER: ARG---2:1....With the German crowd behind them, it may be difficult to beat Germany

ITL:UKR---1:0...I have a feeling the Italians will get another poor call on their side.

Saturday
ENG:POR---2:1..Gerrard will have a great game, and Lamps may finally connect

FRA:BRS---2:0..French will play excellent defence and may make it difficult for the Brasillians to operate. They'll likely attack with the offside trap again, but may be more succesful.

Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't the game be over if one team is down to 8 man....very likely scenario with 5 red card being given out.
