Whilst everyone knows I dislike England, I still was disgusted by the recent attacks on a kid wearing an England top, and an attack on a disabled man because his car had English flags on, but to top that lot of, the English come back, asking Andy Murray (Scottish Tennis Player) on his website how Dunblane was, knowing full well he was in the school at the time of the Dunblane massacre.
Fair enough, we do hate each other, but things are now becoming very, very serious in recent weeks.
I would imagine that over the next few weeks we shall see this continue.

Serously England vs Scotland is like London vs Saffron Walden. We really couldn't give a f*ck, let the kilt wearing, haggis eating heathens say what they like, they belong to a totally different social and intellectual class and we really can't be bothered with them.
I used to think the brain is the most fascinating part of my body. But, hey, who is telling me that?

Well if Scotland take that huge chip off their shoulder regarding England a few English idiots wouldn't react to it.

That's the point though we don't hate you but for some reason you direct this huge amount of venom at us for what I can only assume is some perceived historical injustice.
But if you really want to go to war then be my guest 50 million vs 5 million. HAHAHA no contest, we'll declare at half time to give you skirt wearers a chance.

You scots really shouldn't get so uptight about the English....we couldn't give a shit if you hate us. Most scots seem to get themselves so worked up about it, when us English couldn't care less. The English don't hate the Scottish, its the Scottish which hate the English.

Yeah but the sub crews are all English, the Scots are like cats and run away from water. Also anyone that wears a skirt would not be allowed in the tight confines of a submarine

Jesus - don't start this kind of thing, just take a look at some of the Israel - Palestine threads to see how neighbours really don't get along!
Perhaps not the ideal time to start this either - 90 years ago tonight thousands upon thousand of English, Welsh, Scottish, Irish and Commonwealth soldiers were sitting in their trenchs waiting for the order to go over the top in the Somme. They died together for King and Country, perhaps it would be better to leave this discussion for a while?

Quoting S12PPL (Reply 9): Ok, but seriuosly....America? Owned by Canada??? Whew, that was a good one.
It's true, it was a cunning plan to fool George Washington into thinking that the loyal British had fled up north to start a new country but in reality the Canadians have been and are still are in charge but the Brits got bored and gave the French in Quebec juristiction over you rebels about 150 years ago.

Aye, but it is true, that incidents have been on the rise recently, and some English idiot(s) making fun of 21 dead children is not clever, and is not funny.

I think those references are utterly but perhaps we should concentrate on the reasons why the UK should stick together this weekend and perhaps have a discussion on the future next week?

Scotland should stick together with a country that closes a number of it's army regiments including the Black Watch? Aye right...

It did the same to many of ours, too - hardly an injustice.

Suddenly there is a "Yorkshire Regiment" instead of The Green Howards, Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire and The Duke of Wellingtons Regiment. It isn't only Scotland that is suffering these amalgamations.

Quoting David L (Reply 3): Let's not forget we're talking about a few idiots getting a lot of publicity
Correct. I am sooooooooooo pissed off with this stuff. And most of it is started by the media looking for the "lets have a go at England" or "lets wind up the Jocks" stuff which the mindless thumbs on both sides of the border regularly fall for.
Classic example was the BBC's Question Time last night, starting with the "should Scots support England in the World Cup" chestnut, to see if they could get either an audience member or a panellist to fall into their little racist trap. The only reason they bothered to ship their circus to Perth was specifically to go down that parochial road, instead of covering what really happens in Scottish life in a professional way.
Shameful. The Beeb should get out more and realise that the UK has moved on from their continuing London-centric "we lived through the blitz" mentality.
Do I support England? No. I support four teams including Scotland who arenae in it. Will I get huffy if England win it? No. If they do, they will probably deserve it so I will congratulate them by partaking of a few shots of the finest Scotch whisky. Any excuse for a dram.

I also suspect those responsible for the attacks on the child and the disabled man would be just as likely to attack someone wearing the colours of a rival Scottish club team.
