You can drag just the files you want into the iTunes window. That's it. iTunes will look into the music files to retrieve title and album information, so there should be no need to fiddle with a different library.

(At least it's done that way under MacOS, but as far as I'm aware it's similar enough under Windows.)

Thanks for the response, however, I worded my question wrong. I was actually wondering if there is any way to transfer a particular song to the iPod from the itunes library if it is a different library than the one normally used for the iPod.

Quoting Lhrmaccoll (Reply 3):

Maybe I'm missing something here...but it doesn't work like that for me. The cursor turns into a 'cancel' type looking thing when I drag the song over the iPod icon.

As far as I'm aware there is no official way to mix different libraries on the same iPod, but there are numerous third-party programs which allow such a mix. I don't have that requirement myself, so I can't give you a specific name.

If you don't want to download third party software, you can enable your iPod for disk use by plugging it into iTunes and going to "iPod Preferences" , plug it into the computer you want the songs from, cancel anything iTunes tries to do, create a folder in your iPod using My Computer, copy the songs from their location on the computer to the folder you created on your iPod, plug it in on the computer that has the library that your iPod is linked to and copy the songs from the folder you created on your iPod to your iTunes music library. Then, open iTunes and select "add folder to library." Find the folder the song(s) are in and select that folder. Your computer should add those songs to your library and your iPod. It is less complicated than it sounds.

Hey Swifty
