Just flashed up on CNN. I guess he has pancreatic cancer and underwent sugury today (Friday the 7th).

Sorry to say that but his chances of healing are narrow. Its one of the most aggressive cancers there is with a mean of 6 months of survival.

and the man is no spring chick at 70 years old and i'm just guessing he has not maintained the healthiest diet having been on the international stage for so many years.

a shame, but it happens--the greats pass on and if we are lucky we will see comprable legends again in our own time. fortunately in this day in age we have an extensive recording catalog.
