I can't figure out this survey. Shouldn't there be a legend on it saying the numbers reflected are stated in the hundreds, and "00" should be added to any results?

or that men on average do have more partners and that a small percentage of women have far more partners (perhaps those women who are sex workers) and that they didn't show up as much in the survey...ie the survey is inaccurate.
But yeah you are right, I think men exaggerate and women understate.
The old rule of thumb... whatever men say for their notches halve it, whatever women say for their notches double it. Usually gives you a good idea!

Can't check out the survey cuz I'm currently at work.. but based on the numbers listed here, that seems awfully low! I mean really, most college males put a significant number of notches in their belts just during those 4 years.

As for China...
The large population was part of a push in the 1960s by Mao. Something about not having enough people to become a great nation. He said basically...Everyone get busy.
Now in China the average 23 year old has absolutly no idea about sex or how to interact with a person of the opposite sex. It is a serious problem. Not population wise but socially. Imagine a nation of 20 somethings that have the same reaction to the opposite sex as 7th or 8th graders.
Multiple partner Japan is high but marriage and children are very low. Many women don't want to get married and have children because Japanese men are too demanding and do not participate in the home. After getting married the average married couple will have sex less than 3 times a year.
