Israel - Lebanon
India Bombing
British soldiers in Afghanistan
Terrorism
Religious War
Innocent Deaths

Why? Why is this happening? In a world we share, this chain of events is killing off the best people and destroying the ones we hold dear, even destroying our hopes, dreams and smiles..

Now I admit, I do not fully understand why some of these things are happening. But all I can see as a result is pain and suffering to those who do not want any part in the above.. So why are we dragged into this?

People Everywhere now are walking the streets in fear of Terrorism, Its always said that they wont win, we are not afraid, Which is true in most cases, but can you walk down the street of London, New York, Copenhagen, Madrid or anywhere in that fact and think to yourself "They could be anywhere, me and everyone around me could be fighting for a cause we do not want soon"

Why is this happening?

Children turning on to watch their Cartoons after school only to see a news report of smoke, Death, Panic and Violence.. What does that tell them?

I just cant grip that once a a place I felt safe, secure and happy, And now all these events Lead me and others to think that you have to be prepared for a war or an attack... Which sucks life out of you..

"its there fault they started it", This is a Topic on General views of the current situation of a whole, A Majority of people in this world who do not wish to live in such fear, Who just want to live their lives as normal.

This is everyones home.

Why?

Kazzie, we haven't changed since ancient times. This is merely humanity's need for superiority playing out on itself. Every war has been fought around religion, politics, or both. It's an old old story that, to be honest, I don't think will be concluded until the human race destroys itself.

Kaz, if people understood it, the efforts to solve the crisis would be more effective.

To be honest, I don't live in fear of that. There are things I think a lot more about, all of them concerning my life, family, friends and so on. The conflict in the Middle East just irritates me, it doesn't instill fear. However, my country has a fifty year old history of not screwing around with other nations, which plays an important role in keeping me calm.

I could start talking of false pride, ancient traditions, religion, envy, disappointment and so on. But deep down there, I think it is all happening because a few people crave power and influence. They are strong-willed individuals who want to control as many minds as possible, and they use everything they can to achieve that goal. Think of high-ranking low-profile "religious" leaders (read: extremists) here.

The irony is all people do think alike in their belief of heaven. We can't agree on anything except we all think we're going to heaven when we die. That's why I'm hoping to go to the other place, if there is one.

Not disagreeing just to be disagreeable, but I don't happen to believe in heaven, and I know others who also don't.

Even if I did believe in heaven, I don't think I could honestly say that I am going there. I'm not a particularly bad person or anything; I just think it's somewhat egotistical to think that I might be going to heaven and others may not. At the same time, I don't judge anyone else's beliefs.

For pretty much any generalization, there are plenty of exceptions, and plenty of smaller differences. People often tend to focus on the exceptions and differences, and to characterize them in a negative light. In a sense, this is a natural instinct to be dominant over others. It's very easy to be negative all the time; I believe it's generally harder to try and be positive consistently.

Alright, I'm done BS'ing for the night.

I agree with your disagreeing.  Smile

My comment on heaven was sarcastic. I don't believe in heaven.

I based my assertion on polls that show most people believe in heaven and they think they're going. The numbers are really high, much higher than you typically see in polls. So I tried to make a joke out of the fact polls show people agreeing on heaven while disagreeing on everything else.

What did I just say?

Sorry, I missed the sarcasm. It's past my bedtime.  Smile

Or maybe I am just being disagreeable. Like I said, it's past my bedtime.

I think we can all agree that this post serves little point, if any. Let that be a point of mutual agreement and celebration among all peoples of the world.

People are reluctant to change what they believe, They have it drilled into them from a very young age that this is how they should think/act/look/believe etc. As that song said, a child is born into the world knowing nothing - it is the adults around that teach that child what it knows - and in cases of the Middle East, it is about hatred and prejudice and that they are right and the other side is wrong that is drilled into those children.

Until that cycle is broken, nothing will change.
