I am looking in renting a pre-paid phone - I think. I would like to you what is the best deal for renting an international phone. I have Verizon service and their international "Global phone" is a rip-off. Can I buy a pre-paid phone in Greece and France to use while I'm there?
Thanks,
SR

Can I ask what this has to do with Civil Aviation, apart from flying to Greece and France

As far as Greece is concerned, you just buy a prepaid package for one of the operators at the airport bookshop on arrival, if you have a GSM phone it will cost you 30 Euro (SIM card + airtime).

900 Band - VODAFON, TIM
1800 Band - COSMOTE

Have a nice flight

I use PicCell when I've lived in Europe for extended periods. It is not pre-paid, but the prices are reasonable. For my usage, it was cheaper than going the pre-paid route, but I also use the phone alot.

Probably the best prepaid package is from Cosmote (www.cosmote.gr also in English). The plan is called COSMOKARTA.
Starts at 49, phone, SIM and 10 of airtime included.
Top up cards of 9, 15 and 30 (worth 33) available.
