Office XP's version of Word is different (and newer) from Word 2000.

Hmm... very good question. I was shopping for a new computer last week and I couldn't find Word on the XP notebook computer. Strange.

That's because Microsoft is too cheep to bundle office with it's operating systems. But if you buy Microsoft Office anything, it has word on it.
Unless you buy a computer not with the home bundle, but the office bundle or something along that line.
