First impression, is that I'm not yet completely sold on the trade.....especially if Maddox is a rental, as I'm assuming he's on a one-year contract. Then again, with Betimit and Furcal on the left side of the infield, Izturis was likely the odd-man out, although Sunday he played 2B. Izturis has a hell of a glove, and combined with the departed Alex Cora, those two were the premier DP combo in the majors.
Anything about the Padres getting a 3B??? They were hard after Lowell, Ensberg, etc...

Can't see how this deal will help the Dodgers besides shaking up the clubhouse. Maddox is always a joy to watch pitch, but lets face it, he's getting old and really isn't more than a six inning pitcher anymore. Lugo might bring a spark, but they still have a ways to go to catch up with San Diego and Arizona.
