Google Earth Bugs...HELP!

Is anyone else finding that google earth crashes immediately ALWAYS on their computer? WTF? I have tried three versions, over several months...the moment I start to type anything into any field, or try to put a place pin anywhere, "Google Earth has encountered a problem and needs to close"...It is completely useless.

WTF?!?!? I know it can't be that much of a piece of S#$ so it must be something with my computer; but I'm (obviously) not that techno-savvy, so any ideas would be of help. Thanks...
