Apparently 11 out of a group of 17 male students from Egypt on student visas have not arrived in timely fashion at Montana State University to attend classes there. It is believed that they ended their journey in New York (JFK?) They are now in violation of their visas. The main reasons for the stricter visa policies as to the Islamic and other countries are as to fears of terrorists entering the country as some of the 9/11 terrorists did. It is believed that most likely these men are in the NYC area looking for jobs and used the visas to get into the USA to do so.
ICE and DHS is looking for these men and if located they would be immediately sent back to Egypt. Of course, these jerks may have screwed opportunities for real student applicants and probably mean more rules and limits on getting and keeping these visas in the future.

My comments were not to be construed as racist, etc. Members of Congress and Senate made those changes mainly to keep out potential terrorists from non-visa waivered countries as their voters wanted, as well as keep out those using such visas to illegally get to the USA. I feel strongly that the USA should assure that these programs be continued for access to the high quality, 'liberal' University education we offer. Meanwhile the other 6 student visa holders from Egypt are deeply concerned about their fellow visa holders as it may hurt their situation as well, and I feel sorry for them.
I believe the Student Visa laws require that all such holders report to the administration of the school they are attending within a certain amout of days and in turn, the school is to notify the ICE/DHS of them reporting or not within the specified time in the law.
