Samuel M. Jackson pimping it on "The Daily Show" last night was a riot.
I admit I am surprised they didn't release this straight to video. With the Internet buzz, every video store in America would have needed 10 copies on the shelf to meet demand and if the studio priced it as a rental ($100 per copy), that would have been billions.
I imagine it won't last a week in the theatres, and the reviews will be so bad even the folks who want to see it will be disuaded if they don't go opening night.

Look at it this way: If it wasn't for movies like this, all the good movies wouldn't look so good. What a minute. Yes they would. Scratch my last statement.

Dude! It's about snakes on a plane! What's to wonder?
Anyway, I'm pretty sure even the production company et al know it's not exactly a quality flick. But you have to admit they did a pretty damn good job of getting the word out there.
I'll probably see it on video. How can you not see a movie with that title???

Umm, snakes... on a plane.
Quoting Dragon-wings (Reply 5): The snakes in the trailers that I've seen look so fake!
Well, some of them are real, either that or David Letterman lied to me.
I don't see why most people here put the movie down so much. The movie isn't supposed to be serious. Its a comedy thriller. Personally I'm going to see it.

Snakes on a Plane

Was Trainspotting about trains?
Did The Naked Gun have anything to do with guns and clothing?
At what part during the movie Caddyshack was there anything to do with a Caddyshack?
And did anybody actually take part in an act that involved Romancing the Stone?
EXACTLY!

Actually, the main plot of that movie (if you want to claim there was one) was centered around Danny Noonan, a caddy who worked at the caddyshack of Bushwood CC. The famous fight scene with Danny and DeNunzio where Danny's little brother interfered, leading to Bill Murray's brother coming in and stopping the fight. The caddyshack, where Danny and his g/f snuck behind to have sex - that caddyshack.

it appears that would be the "caddyshack," however, in the script, the buildings are noted as Concession Stand, and Barn. there's never any mention in the script of an actual "caddyshack"
