I lift weights Monday-Thurday for about 2 hours. I can bench 135 and squat 210 and I weigh 170 pounds. Does anyone else lift, and if so, how much?

I lift weights occasionally...every once in a while get into that "time to bulk up" mood. I can bench my body weight and leg press 3x it...so, I'm happy.

I have stopped power lifting, but i played linebacker and fullback in high school and was on a really strong workout program that i continued into college. A year ago i could bench 280 and squat 425.... My ability to do that has since worn off- it took up too much time and i made it too big a part of my life. Now i just do pushups and situps and run to keep in shape.

You squat 210? That's a mighty heavy turd, you might want to go see a proctologist and have that checked.  Wow!

I'm not sure how much I bench...I'm not really worried about numbers. That and I have a bad shoulder that I don't want to overstress.

Normally I start with a set 10x135lbs to warm up, then increase to the point of failure something like this:

10x155lbs
10x175lbs
10x185 or 195lbs
then usually as many as I can get @ 225lbs (usually 5 or 6)

I know that I could conceivably do more but I don't want to injure myself.

BTW, I weigh 170lbs.

Well I go to a gym in my school five days a week, Monday thru Friday. I never bench press, but I squat 400 lbs(I'm not sure how much that is in kg's). I really don't enjoy it; it's a matter of neccesity for bulking up in order to live a good life in today's world. And like Carmy said, it feels like a chore.

I don't do weight lifting but I do some body building at the gym. I'm 15, I started going in April and it works really well for me.
I increase the load periodically.

I used to be addicted to weight lifting. A couple of years ago was 230# on a 6-2 frame.

Started running/triathlons and developed foot problems. have toned down now to 190#....marathon time about 3:45. Focus more on reps/toning than bulk development. Have greater muscle/body/limb flex since toning down and feel better than ever!

Guys....don't buff up too much!

True ILS, but I see alot of young guys in the gym who bulk up their bodies WAY too much, especially upper body.

I recommend a mix of bulk, toning, high aerobic activity at all times of life. I've played every sport under the sun.....the HARDEST ever was running my first marathon. Give long distance running some thought...great for weight control!

Good man!

One step at a time. If you can run 5k, you can run 10k. Then add 2k/week for your long run, and run mid-week working on hills or speed work. Join a running/marathon clinic if possible.

Let me know how it goes!
