No such thing as a "normal" pilot . . .

Shall I give the n00b the cargo bay? The give-a-meter? The other give-a-meter?

Decisions, decisions . . . .

Welcome aboard Swaguy . . .

Swaguy - welcome. Word of warning, you've set yourself up for one heck of a 'warm'  flamed  welcome, but if you get through it you'll find it a fun place. But one word of friendly advice from an airline enthusiast who just happens to be gay - this isn't the place to be looking for dates!  Wink

Exactly! But don't you think a sincere user would have no reason to hide their interests.

But didn't you at least indicate some enthusiasm for aviation in your profile? And look at the sentence structure and number of grammatical errors.

My Bullshit-O-meter is pegged! I smell deletion...thread and user.

No man, you evidently misunderstood a couple of things.

When a pilot tells air traffic control that he is going to "deviate to the [left][right]" he means that he is going to fly around a thunderstorm. It has nothing to do with his intentions regarding the other pilot!

When your actor friend tells you he is going to "do a pilot" it means he is shooting a made-for-TV movie. Okay?

Pilots are straight.

Well, most pilots are straight. At least they are butch enough that I can't spot them - unless I see their car.

Anyway, welcome to airlinersDOTnet. Good hunting!

ummm no... A Pilot is the very first episode that is made for a program that can either be a regular series (sitcom) or mini series. The pilot episode is shown to exec's who decide the fate of the proect based on that one episode.

2H4's quote was lifted from a Tech-Ops thread about airliner lavs. Very interesting thread. Did you know that a turd travels about 100mph through the waste tube of an airliner?

That 2H4!...he's just FULL of obscure and interesting facts.  Smile

I know quite a few gay pilots. They are just like everyone else.

For the record, there are no "normal" people anywhere. What does normal mean? Normal is relative.

As for the thread starter, welcome to this "not-so-normal" place. Enjoy the forum and the rest. It is a great place.

I can tell you being gay and being on that side of the cockpit door is harder than being gay on our side of the door. That's just the way it is, like it or not.

On a side note: if you're having sex with someone of the same sex, you're not curious. You're gay.

As it happens, a friend of mine...who happens to be gay...regularly beat pilots from the USAF Academy, Naval Academy, Riddle, UND, et al in national intercollegiate flight competition.

If your statement was in fact serious, it is both shortsighted and bigoted.
