Katherine Harris!

Harris wins Fla. GOP Senate nomination

By STEVEN WINE, Associated Press Writer

MIAMI - U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris overcame a campaign ridiculed even by her own party to easily claim the GOP nomination for the Senate on Tuesday, and Rep. Jim Davis won the Democratic nomination to succeed popular Gov. Jeb Bush.

Isn't her incumbent opponent in November a Democrat?

Sad.

It just goes to show, in today's political climate, no matter what a FUC*ING idiot "your guy/gal" is, you will still vote for him/her so "your team" will win.

Trust me when I tell you KH's primary ads were not at all flattering to her opponents.

Chalk up yet another mystifying victory for the politics of hate and fear.

I doubt they will need to do so. Bill Nelson is a pretty good guy and one of the few Democrats I would vote for if I still lived in Florida. He used to be our Congressman over in Titusville and did great things for the space program.

It doesn't surprise me that she won the GOP primary. What also won't surprise me is to see her have a meltdown in public during the campaign.

Won't have to, she already proven to be looney tunes, already down 40 points in the polls. Been caught on tape trying some hanky panky with a college reporter, claims to have spend her Dad's money on the campaign, fired all the professional hired veteran GOP staff, heck want a good laugh, read any FL paper on any day regarding her campaign.

I cannot but be amazed by how the political system & electors enabled that nut to win a primary. Is there something wrong? Where are the standards to meet so that potentially elected public officials are not embarassments?

Am worried that crackpots may represent an otherwise "sane" population.

Ah, Florida politics. It is facinating, crazy, scary and totally corrupt place and where even a crook can run for office. I hope Ms. Harris gets her butt whipped by 40%.

I can see her first speech in the Senate now: proposing an amendment that only Christians be allowed to hold public office so that the nation's democracy isn't a lie.

Don't laugh. she'd do it.

I hope she never sees the inside of that chamber.

If you think dirty politics will need to be resorted to, then you aren't very in the know about her very public and amusing/scary quotations in the past few months. Not only is she extreme, she seems downright off her rocker... can't even imagine someone voting for her who knows beyond what an R or a D means.

Sounds like a pretty sad day for moderate or intelligent Republicans, as this is going to do more harm than good to the party.

Harris is going to get her ass kicked in November. If Bill Nelson didn't spend a single dollar on his campaign, he'd probably still win by about a 2:1 margin.

Harris is an embarrasment to the GOP.

Kitty's such fun to watch, and no threat at all to her opponent...and much as some Reeps hate to admit it, she reflects many of the values of the right-wing of their party. Loudly. And often. Start the popcorn!

The AP reports some confusion among Florida GOPers:

"Florida Republican Party spokesman Jeff Sadosky said Wednesday the party will back Harris but that it was too early for details.

Sadosky said he didn't know whether state party chairwoman Carole Jean Jordan or Gov. Jeb Bush would campaign for her at some point or if Harris would get any money from the state party.

"The governor and chairwoman Jordan said they would support the eventual nominees," Sadosky said. "She is the nominee."

Bush's office referred questions about Harris to Sadosky."

C'mon now...unite! Don't be cuttin' and runnin' on Kitty!
