Will Hugo Chavez call to congratulate him?

I want to see a replay of the last out at first base, that was kind of close...

Congrats to him!

Way to go Fish!!!

Now if only the Dolphins can manage to keep from snatching defeat from the clenched jaws of a sure victory tomorrow, I'll be doing GREAT  Wink

Ted-The Dolphins will roll the Steelers tomorrow. I have faith that Miami can and probably will go to the Super Bowl, against the Seahawks of course. If Culpepper can get to his old form, Miami is going to be one dangerous team.

Go Diamondbacks. Involved in the last two no-hitters. Was watching the game here in the Phoenix area, at first glance on the last play it was like what? Replays showed it was close but, Byrnes was out. (Wonder if the official scorer would have ruled it an error if Byrnes did beat it out?) First year in the majors and throws a no-hitter kid gotta be on cloud 9.

With some of the pitchers the Mets had over the years they never had no hitter in the history of the franchise. That's pretty hard to believe.

Speaking of Randy Johnson, he went almost 7 innings with a no-no tonight before one of the Royals hit a triple.

ESPN cut away from the Bo Sox and Chi Sox game to see the final inning. I thought the last out looked close, maybe a tie. But who knows

Probably more likely than a congratulatory call from Jeffrey Loria...  stirthepot

Just another nail the the Red Sox' coffin this season. We dealt him as part of a package to the Marlins for Beckett and Lowell. While Lowell has had a major re-birth, Beckett has been mediocre, which is why we signed him to a three-year extension.  crazy

Congrats, Anibal Sanchez.

As a Cubs Fan I am pissed. The Marlins have been around for 14 years
and in that time, they have 4 no-hitters and 2 World Series Championships.
The Cubs have nothing in the 28 years I have been a fan.

Cubs suck. They are like the Royals IMO, its like they don't want to win. They go out and they have the losing mantra engrained in them, and thats that. That's how every season goes for them. Maybe you should switch teams???

It does not work that way. Remember, I am a Cubs fan. We are loyal.

I was a great game, nice to see such a young pitcher throw out a no hitter! I started thinking no hitter around the 7th, but still didn't think it was likely, but a great game, screwed up my ticket, but still, fantastic to watch!

The Fins in the Superbowl. I don't think so. Go Steelers!

Nope, they've always been my team, even if they go 2-14 I'll still love them.

Good to hear that Neil. I just said that because of dealing with numerous USC Bandwagoners the past couple of years. I'm a diehard Seahawks fan like that too.

Seahawks are a great team this year too, Alexander will obviously perform, but I think Hasselbeck will have a better year than last, although he did very well ast year too. On the other hand, while I'm a huge Steelers fan, losing Randel El and the Bus will hurt, and also with Roethlisberger being a complete idiot about his own health I'm not too encouraged. However, I'm hoping Cower can bring the team together!

Steelers win the north...not even in a tight race. Baltimore may give them trouble, and I'm not sold on Cincy. I see Seattle threepeating over in the NFC West simply because no one else is going to step it up. AZ got E.James, but they are still Arizona. I'm concerned w/ our O-Line after losing Hutchinson, and losing Jureviscius hurts huge too. Hopefully Burleson can take his place well.

Hats off to Anibal Sanchez.

As to tonight's game, my favorite teams are going head to head...

Still have to go for the Steelers.

HAHAHA. Nothing better than watching Chowdfan cry. Their season crumppling like a tunnel in the Big Dig. Perfect.

I'm confused what does the Pittsburgh Steelers have to do with a baseball no-hitter? Wonder if it will take another 841 days before the next no-no. Hopefully Sanchez will have a better career than the last rookie (Bud Smith of the Cardinals) that toss a no-hitter in 2001. Any one remember Bud Smith?

A guy gets a No-Hitter and there's maybe 8,000 people in the stands?
We South Floridians would rather watch it on tv. Hell we dont even sell-out Dolphins games.
isn't funny that the lowest payroll gets a No-Hitter, and is in the hunt for the playoffs?

PS Dolphins will in tonight(got to have at least 1 good Miami football team UM sucks this year)

8,000? The Phoenix papers are reporting it was fewer than 5,000. Reminds me when Catfish Hunter pitched his perfect game against the Twins in Oakland during the 1968 season, the crowd was like "family and friends" in attendance.

The "Official" count was like 12,000, but take that with a grain of salt. I have seen more people at a high school football game. But I am just as guilty as everyone else.

I'm sorry I was right. Being a fan of almost 38 years, gives me enough experience to know what to expect. The Dolphins needed to play Rothlesbuger. If they would have been underdogs to him, they would have showed up with the right mentality. I bleed Orange, Teal, and Green for Miami football, but I know it's limits.
